A homeowner in Glastonbury, CT had a crawlspace that needed insulation. They called us at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to solve their energy problems. After scheduling an appointment, one of our Sales Consultants, Tim Kane, went out to the home to estimate the issues and provide products for a solution.
Then it would soon be time for one of our Foremen, Rudy Abel, and his team to work on this project. They used Spray Foam insulation on the walls. This will seal and insulate all in one, keeping the air in. It is also a waterproof insulation. The team also put in a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. This will protect the crawlspace from moisture and any possible mold growth. Now this homeowner is happy knowing their crawlspace is properly insulated.
A homeowner in East Hampton, CT had an attic with existing fiberglass insulation that was causing their home to be energy inefficient. They called us at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to have us find a solution for this project. After scheduling an appointment with us, one of our Sales Consultants, Mike Bourdeau, went out to the home to assess the issue and propose our insulation as a solution.
Then it would soon be time for one of our Foremen, Rudy Abel, and his crew would work on the installation of this project. They blew in our TruSoft cellulose insulation. This will act as a thermal barrier to the home, regulating the temperature year-round. It will also mean that their home will be energy efficient, bringing their energy bill down.
Here is a before and after of a scuttle hole with the David Lewis Scuttle cover. The insides are caulked to ensure air tightness, and the bottom is weatherstripped to ensure an air tight seal after each use. These provide an R20 insulation value and we install them all throughout Connecticut!
Attic pull down stairs can lead to air leakage and lost energy. Here at Dr. Energy Saver Of Connecticut we like to use David Lewis Hatch Covers to properly seal the attic around pull down stairs. That is exactly the solution we decided on for this Connecticut attic. This David Lewis Hatch Cover is sealed and weatherstripped to provide a tight covering after each use. Now these homeowners can enjoy a more comfortable home all year.
When we arrived in this Granby home, we found that there were numerous air leaks in that attic that were causing the home to be less energy efficient. One huge source of wasted energy was the whole house fan. It was decided that we would remove the fan but keep the opening as access to the attic. The opening was framed out to make it look finished and a cover was added. The attic side of the cover was insulated and sealed to prevent further unnecessary and costly energy loss. The owners of this home were both more comfortable and saved money with this attic upgrade!
