This Norwalk basement was musty and under insulated, making the entire home drafty and uncomfortable. The homeowner was tired of this and wanted to find a solution, so she decided to call the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT for a free home evaluation.
Keith Saunders arrived on the day of the appointment and concluded that the home needed to be properly insulated and have a moisture barrier installed to eliminate the drafts, odor and moisture. The homeowner agreed and wanted to move forward with the insulation process.
On the day of installation, Johnny Lopez and his production team were more than prepared to install these products. SilverGlo panels were placed on the wall and TerraBlock was installed on the floors to prevent any air leakage. Then, our patented CleanSpace liner was placed on top of the floor insulation to prevent any water vapor entry. Without moisture entering the basement, the musty odors were eliminated and the space became much more comfortable.
Once the project was finished, the basement was completely transformed. It became much more attractive and efficient for the entire household. The homeowner was no longer plagued by drafts or musty odors in her basement, and she was very glad that she called the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT!

The owners of this home wanted a less drafty and more comfortable home. When we arrived, we pinpointed a major source of the home's problems: the attic. Conditioned air was escaping out of the home and into the attic. To maximize home comfort while making the house more energy efficient, we had to first remove the existing attic insulation. The old insulation didn't stop air from flowing into and out of the attic from other areas of the home. Next, we used expanding polyurethane foam to seal any air leaks. This step is critical in any attic insulation job since it helps seperate the attic from the rest of the home. Finally, we created an insulated catwalk and blew in cellulose insulation. The owners noticed immediate results in the comfort of thier home!
This Easton, CT family was experiencing colder than usual temperatures in their home, and quickly found most of their troubles were coming from their garage. It's essential to insulate the garage ceiling if there is living space above the garage. Without it, the rooms above can become extremely uncomfortable, especially during New England winters. They gave us a call at Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut, and we were happy to come and help them find a solution!
Dan Kiley and his team came out, and quickly installed a spray foam over the garage ceiling. They used a closed cell spray foam, which cures as a dense, hard material that seals off the space from both moisture and air. It has a great resistance to air and water vapor, while blocking and absorbing sound. Now, their home will be much warmer in the winter, and much cooler in the summer! We left this family knowing they would be much more comfortable in their home!
