Spray Foamed Cantilever in Connecticut
The solution to preventing expensive conditioned air from escaping via this cantilevered floor was to temporarily remove the soffit boards. This allowed access to seal and insulate the joist bays under the floor deck with polyurethane spray foam. Eliminating the air flow resulted in significantly less unnecessary energy loss and increased comfort for the rooms and floors.
