A home in Westport, CT had existing insulation in the attic that was causing the entire home to be drafty and energy inefficient. The homeowner called us at Dr. Energy Saver of CT and we sent one of our Salesmen, Mike Bourdeau, out to the home to go up in the attic to assess the issues and provide them with an estimate for new insulation.
Our Foreman, Jony Fernandez, and his crew would install this job. They installed an insulated catwalk with retention dams in this attic. Then they blew in our TruSoft cellulose insulation that will act as a thermal barrier to the home. It will keep air from seeping out and also from coming in. The temperatures will always be regulated throughout the seasons, keeping the air in the home and not letting outside air in as well.
TruSoft Cellulose
Our team blew in our TruSoft cellulose insulation that is seen on the left and right. It will act as a thermal barrier to the home, regulating the temperatures, and immediately improving energy efficiency.
Old Insulation
Fiberglass insulation had a lower R-value than our cellulose insulation, which makes the home energy inefficient. The higher the R-value, the better.
Insulated Storage Deck and Catwalk
Our crew installed an insulated storage deck for this large attic so that the customer can easily access it and can potentially use it for storage if needed.
