Blown Fiberglass Attic Insulation
An attic needs to be properly insulated to prevent ice damming and maintain even temperatures in the home. We evaluated and diagnosed this home to assess the amount of insulation needed to reach the desired R-value.
Insulation Contractor in CT
After the attic is air sealed, blown insulation can be installed right over existing insulation as long as there is no water damage.
Improved Comfort with Lower Cost
This home's comfort and efficiency were improved by increasing the R-value of the insulation in the attic. Attics are known sources of heat loss. The proper amount and kind of insulation will keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer at a lower cost.
Recommended R-Value
The Department of Energy recommends an R-value between R-49 to R-60 in your attic to maintain a consistent temperature. This averages to about 16 inches of insulation. In this case, we chose blown fiberglass.
Insulation Upgrade
With the proper amount of attic insulation, this home can now be comfortable and efficient all at the same time! Many homes lose a lot of conditioned air through the attic. Proper insulation and air sealing are the solution.
