Failing Fiberglass Batts Insulation
This attic was insulated with fiberglass insulation. Fiberglass does not provide a sufficient thermal barrier in an attic because it allows air to pass through it and you can not achieve a high enough R-value.

Leaky Can Lights
The recessed can light fixtures exposed in the attic were some of the biggest culprits in lost heated air out of the kitchen.

Electrical Holes
There were unsealed holes around electrical wires that were also leaking heated air.

David Lewis Hatch Cover
We installed a David Lewis Hatch cover at the entrance to the attic in order to offer an airtight insulated cap that can be easily removed upon entrance into the attic.

TruSoft Blown Cellulose
Finally, the crew installed TruSoft Blown in cellulose insulation in order to meet R-value standards and provide enough of a thermal barrier so the homeowners can be comfortable in their home.
