Photo Album: Insulated Attic in East Hampton

This used used to be poorly insulated with a bad installation of fiberglass batts insulation. Without proper air sealing, conditioned air from the house would leak into the attic as well as through the exterior walls, increasing the home energy bill. To reduce fuel costs and make the home more comfortable, we removed the old insulation and sealed all the gaps in the attic with an expanding foam. After that, we blew in TruSoft cellulose insulation, which not only matches or exceeds the R-value of fiberglass, but also slows or stops air leaks which fiberglass cannot do. Our TruSoft cellulose, in combination with air sealing spray foam, offers an affordable and effective way to upgrade attic insulation! We also injected AirKrete into the exterior walls of the house and reinstalled all the shingles.
