Cellulose insulation serves as an affordable and highly efficient upgrade for a homeowner's attic. It is often used in attics because it can be installed quickly and effectively with blowing equipment. Cellulose insulation is "super-green" - made from recycled newspapers and treated with a nontoxic borate solution for a Class 1 (the highest) fire rating and making it resistant to mold and insects. It has a superior R-rating and a high resistance to air flow.
Ready to Blow In the Cellulose
This attic is ready for the final stages of our insulation. The SuperDeck and catwalk have been insulated with 4" of SilverGlo below the layer of oriented strand board (OSB), allowing for plenty of storage and easy attic access. The insulation dams are also in place, ready to contain all of the TruSoft cellulose insulation that will be blown in, resulting in a more comfortable and energy efficient home!
